For some years we have recognised the need to refurbish St Mary’s House of Welcome to service our moral obligation to those in need in society. Our current funds only cover our day to day operating costs. Every dollar received is spent on client needs, leaving no resources to redevelop the run-down building
Constructing this dream will be an expensive process. We will be appealing to the general public to support this project and we hope to have your continued support

| SATURDAY APPEAL |
As well as our need for a new building, we also need funds to continue to operate our meal service on Saturdays. St Mary’s House of Welcome receives government funding to provide one meal service a day for 5 days a week. We actually provide 4 meal services a day and we try to stretch this funding to cover Saturdays as well. We are one of the only two agencies in Melbourne that is open on Saturdays offering meals, showers, shelter, ‘a place to be’ for men and women living on the streets.
We are at a crisis point. We will not be able to continue to offer this service if we can not raise the funds needed to keep the Saturday day service open. We are appealing for your help. It costs us a further $1250 per week to keep the service open and we are hoping that you will think of us when you next organise a Saturday lunch out in a restaurant, and perhaps hold a lunch at home instead, and donate the money you would have spent to our Saturday Appeal.
