| OLD FRIENDS MUSICAL |
2 May 2008 | 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Having first met whilst touring Australia in ‘Man of La Mancha’, Anna-Lee and Derek soon realized that they have a mutual love of a story through song and having a giggle at each others expense. Over the past few years, even though working on opposite sides of the world, they have stayed in touch and are now back working together in the current Australian tour of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’.
Between them they have appeared in many professional musical productions both here in Australia and in Asia, including ‘Annie’, ‘Cats’, ‘The Wizard of Oz’, ‘The Secret Garden’, ‘Grease’, ‘Sweeney Todd’, ‘Carousel’ and ‘Sunset Boulevard‘. As well as this, they have both enjoyed success working overseas; Derek performing the role of Mary Sunshine in ‘Chicago’ on London’s West End and Anna-Lee being chosen as the first Australian to attend the Cabaret Conference at Yale University.
They are both thrilled to be able to put together a show of old favorites and new surprises with the help of the talented Michael Lee-Porter on piano, to help raise awareness and money for St Marys House of Welcome. |
