Degustation for Dignity

Thank you to Rollo at Good Cactus for this great video of D4D 2017.

We are delighted to announce that Matthew Jukes has agreed to return for our event held at Collingwood Town Hall on Friday 19th of October 2018, to run a wine tasting master class for over 200 guests in Melbourne this year. Matthew is a charismatic host and a true expert on wines of Australia.

Wineries will donate wine to be tasted and reviewed by Matthew, and he will choose the best wines that best match the food and the theme of the night.  Local restaurants will donate tasting sized serves of their signature dishes to be matched to the wines.  It’s an event to raise funds to support and maintain all of St Mary’s House of Welcome’s services, thanks to the generosity of friends, family and wineries.

Tickets are on sale now. Contact Michelle Coates via michelle.coates@smhow.org.au or 03 9417 6497 to register your interest.

Important Information about Degustation for Dignity

We’re excited to be planning this year’s event again and we have a few new changes that we want you to be aware of before you book your tickets.

  1. NEW VENUE! We’re excited to announce that we’ve outgrown the Fitzroy Town Hall and have decided to move the event to the Collingwood Town Hall. The format of the event will remain the same as previous years, but the new venue provides a little more space which allows us to grow the event and will make running the event a little easier and smoother for the volunteers and organisers.
  2. NEW MENU! We’re in the process of designing a new menu for this year. We’ll still have some of favourite dishes from previous years but we are looking to streamline the process of acquiring donations and preparing the food. This year we will be offering a regular (meat) menu and a vegetarian menu. If you have a specific dietary requirement, please contact us to discuss your needs and we will try to accommodate. Please note, our kitchen provides food containing peanuts, tree nuts, soy, dairy, eggs, wheat and seafood. While we take steps to minimize the risk of cross contamination, we cannot guarantee that any of our products are safe to consume for people with allergies to the above mentioned items.
