St Mary’s House of Welcome CEO retirement announcement
From the St Mary’s House of Welcome Chairperson:
Dear Staff members, volunteers, donors and supporters,
I am writing to introduce myself and to share some news with you.
After a number of years on the Board, I have recently become the Chair of the Board of Directors at St Mary’s House of Welcome, replacing Luke Fitzgerald, who, for personal reasons, stepped down from this role. I am very lucky to follow in Luke’s footsteps. Luke provided compassionate and strong leadership to the Board and St Mary’s ensuring that people who use our services are made welcome and treated with care and compassion.
The reason I am writing to you, is to let you know that Tony McCosker, who has been the CEO at St Mary’s for almost thirteen years, will be retiring in July this year. The Board is very grateful to Tony for his leadership, and for providing us with a generous notice period, and assisting the Board in the search for a new CEO.
Tony will continue in his role until July 2018 and the Board and the Daughters of Charity are now working on the recruitment of a new CEO. We will be looking for an engaging and experienced person who is committed to the mission of St Mary’s and the philosophy of the Daughters of Charity, with the ability to garner support in the community for this unique and most important work.
Thank you to each of you for the contribution you make to the work of St Mary’s. We recently underwent an external accreditation process where our services were measured against national standards set for community organisations. St Mary’s met all the standards and we were commended for how welcoming our service is, which is due to your work as volunteers, donors, friends and community partners.
I look forward to keeping you updated as we recruit for a new CEO and working with you all through this period of change.
Dr. Ralph Hampson
Chair of the Board of Directors
